EXCLUSIVE: The Royal Box at Wimbledon is the hottest ticket in town during the tournament, but not everyone will be able to get inside.
The Royal Box at Wimbledon is where the tennis tournament’s most important guests sit, including members of the Royal Family, particularly Princess Kate.
The Princess of Wales is particularly invested in the sport because she is the patron of the All England Tennis and Croquet Club and traditionally presents the winners’ trophies.
If she attends this year, she will be placed in the Royal Box, and anyone else who is fortunate enough to secure a seat there will have the entire VIP experience.
The majority of the day is spent playing tennis and eating, with welcome beverages and coffee served on the balcony before the matches begin, as well as premium chocolates.
Photographs may be taken in the Royal Box before other guests arrive, so there are few prospects for a selfie with Kate.
For lunch, customers can expect the best selection of hot and cold delicacies, including lobster tail and expensive cuts of meat and seafood like Halibut.
Strawberries and cream are served for dessert (what else?), but there is also the choice of Peach crémeux and cheeses.
Afternoon tea is served on the balcony before guests return to watch the remainder of the tennis, with celebrities such as Bear Grylls, David Beckham, Carole and Michael Middleton already seen in the Royal Box this year.
Meghan Markle, who stood nearby, seemed to tilt her head and smile gently at Charlotte. The episode appeared to irritate their grandmother, Queen Camilla, who looked irritated, motioned toward Charlotte, and then muttered to her mother, Catherine, Princess of Wales, “Take her.”
Other lip-readers, as reported in The Sun, remarked that Charlotte appeared to be imparting advice to her brother throughout the day, as did attentive Royal devotees. At one point, Charlotte is thought to have advised George, with lip-readers reading her silent instruction as “You need to bow,” according to the Mirror.
Prince George, dressed in a dark suit and tie, appeared to acknowledge his sister’s admonition about the demands of Royal etiquette. The live TV moment in which Prince George and Princess Charlotte appeared to have a “dispute” was not ignored, with one viewer tweeting: “Looks like Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a minor disagreement. Look at the Queen Consort. Camilla
Another person asked, “What did Charlotte say when she turned back around?” Was it a wow? Ow? Cow?”
In a striking display of Royal elegance, Queen Camilla was spotted soothing Princess Charlotte when the little royal slipped while a curtsy to King Charles in May. At the coronation concert, the Wales family greeted the King and Queen with traditional bows and curtsies.
However, Charlotte, following in her mother’s footsteps, lost her footing after curtsying to the King. She stabilized herself by looking at her father and brother.
Despite missing Princess Charlotte’s curtsy, Queen Camilla captured the moment and quietly soothed her step-granddaughter with a loving hand on the shoulder as she walked past.
