Many outstanding female country performers have stolen our hearts throughout the years. Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline are frequently the most popular among them. Many people, however, think that Kitty Wells is the actual country queen. I had never heard of this incredible lady until I saw this video. But now that I have, I am unable to stop listening.
Kitty Wells made several significant contributions to the realm of country music, albeit the younger generation is unlikely to be aware of this. She was the first solo female artist to appear on the Grand Ole Opry stage in 1952. The video below shows Kitty Wells performing her famous 1952 #1 song “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” at the Grand Ole Opry. This song was initially prohibited from being broadcast on the NBC series, but due to its popularity, Wells was invited to sing it live.
