An old, tired-looking dog wandered into a man’s yard one afternoon. The man walked over, checked the dog’s collar, and noticed his well-fed belly, realizing the pup clearly belonged to a good home.
The dog casually followed the man inside, strolled down the hallway, hopped onto the living room couch, curled up, and fell fast asleep. The man thought it was incredibly bizarre, but decided to let the poor guy rest.
After an hour, the dog woke up, walked to the front door, and waited. The man let him out, and the dog wagged his tail and trotted away.
The exact same thing happened the next day. And the day after that. For weeks, the dog would show up, scratch at the door, head straight for the couch, sleep for an hour, and leave.
Overcome with curiosity, the man finally pinned a note to the dog’s collar: “Your dog comes to my house every single day just to take a nap.”
The following day, the dog arrived right on schedule. When the man checked the collar, there was a reply note attached. It read:
“He lives in a house with four toddlers. He’s just trying to catch up on his sleep.
P.S. Can I come with him tomorrow?”
