Brian May health update: Queen guitarist was rushed to hospital with a minor sᴛʀᴏᴋᴇ and lost control of his arm

Sir Brian May, the famed guitarist and co-founder of the rock band Queen, has released some health news that has fans worried: he suffered a “minor sᴛʀᴏᴋᴇ” that rendered him unable to play guitar and was transported to the hospital.

However, May assured followers that he was recovering.

In an Instagram video posted earlier today, May, 77, stated that he had a “health hiccup” a week ago that was described as a “minor sᴛʀᴏᴋᴇ.”

“All of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm. So it was a little scary, I have to say,” May revealed.

Understandably, one of rock’s most prominent guitarists would be concerned about losing control of his arm, but May reassured fans that he could still shred.

“The good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days,” May told. He stated he was treated quite well at England’s Frimley Park Hospital after being taken there in an ambulance.

Following the sᴛʀᴏᴋᴇ, the rock legend stated that he was told to “do nothing” and rest at home. While May stated that he did not want to make a big deal out of the incident and does not want “sympathy,” numerous admirers wished him well.

“Sending lots of love Brian,” one person wrote.

“Oh dear, glad to see you’re doing OK now. Please take care of yourself, Pal,” another commented.

May has previously experienced a “small heart ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ” in 2020, so this is not his first significant health worry.

Brian May is a rock music legend, best known as a founding member and main guitarist for the legendary rock band Queen. His guitar solos propelled several of Queen’s greatest successes, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Keep Yourself Alive,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

He also wrote many of Queen’s most well-known songs, including “We Will Rock You,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” and “The Show Must Go On.”

Following Freddie Mercury’s ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ, Queen went on hiatus, with May performing as a solo artist. They have subsequently regrouped and continue to tour with Adam Lambert as their new leader. Queen’s music continues to attract new admirers decades later, and their narrative was recounted in the Oscar-winning 2018 film Bohemian Rhapsody, on which May worked as a consultant.

In addition to his music career, May holds a PhD in astrophysics and created the animal protection organization Save Me, which has fought against fox hunting and badger culling in the United Kingdom.

May has won numerous accolades, including being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Queen in 2001 and receiving the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award with the band in 2018.

King Charles III knighted May last year, which was a significant honor.
