He Asked for Silk Pajamas on a Fishing Trip. Big Mistake.
A man called his wife, unusually cheerful. “Honey, great news. My boss invited me on a fishing trip. A whole week.”
A pause.
“This could really help my promotion.”
His wife listened quietly.
“Can you pack my clothes? And my fishing gear,” he added.
Then casually:
“Oh—and don’t forget my new blue silk pajamas.”
Silence.
“…Your silk pajamas?”
“Yeah,” he said quickly. “You know. Just in case.”
“Of course,” she replied.
Very calmly.
A week later, he came home smiling.
“How was the trip?” she asked.
“Amazing,” he said. “Caught a ton of fish. Salmon, bluegill…”
He stretched, satisfied.
Then frowned.
“Hey… weird thing.”
She looked at him.
“You forgot my blue silk pajamas.”
A beat.
She smirked and said
“I didn’t forget.”
He blinked.
“They were in your tackle box.”
Silence.
His brain stalled.
She took a sip of tea.
“If you didn’t see them…”
Another pause.
“…you probably didn’t go fishing either.”
