Lip reader revealed Prince William’s brutal remark to Queen Camilla during VE Day service

A lip reader has offered insight into an exchange between Prince William and Queen Camilla during the recent VE Day celebrations, revealing a light but pointed moment between the royals.

The 80th anniversary of VE Day, commemorating the end of World War II in Europe, brought together senior members of the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the traditional flypast.

It was a rare full-family appearance, with Prince William and Princess Kate accompanied by their three children—George, Charlotte, and Louis—who were kept entertained by a guessing game involving aircrafts in the sky.

Kate reportedly encouraged the children to stay engaged, telling Prince Louis, “When the flypast comes, you will see it smoke blue, white and red.” Louis excitedly commented, “They have lots of tanks.” Meanwhile, Prince George joined in the guessing game, at one point correctly identifying an Atlas aircraft after initially hesitating.

It appeared the family’s enthusiasm for aviation, likely inherited from William’s time as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot, was on full display. William even tried to involve Queen Camilla in the game. According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, he told her, “It’s the wrong answer,” prompting Camilla to reply, “Are we playing this still? I need to try harder.”

Prince George’s passion for planes isn’t new. Back in 2016, Kate mentioned his obsession with the air cadets during a visit marking their 75th anniversary, and by 2021, she shared that all three children had become fascinated by aircraft—an interest that clearly runs in the family.
