One privilege that Prince Louis has that George and Charlotte don’t

Prince Louis, who turns seven today, is said to enjoy a special privilege that his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, do not, according to a royal expert.

BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond shared insights with the Mirror, explaining that Louis, as the youngest child, often benefits from certain advantages.

“Being the youngest tends to come with special treatment,” Bond said. “You can get away with more and are often considered a little extra special as the last-born.”

When reflecting on the parenting style of Prince William and Princess Catherine, particularly with Louis, Bond noted: “Catherine probably gives Louis a bit more freedom compared to how she was with George.” She added that both parents, with their years of experience, undoubtedly love all three of their children deeply, but perhaps in slightly different ways.

“George is cherished as the firstborn with an important future ahead of him,” Bond explained. “Charlotte holds a unique place as the only daughter, and Louis, of course, is the baby of the family.”

Bond also touched on the dynamic between the siblings, mentioning that Charlotte often tries to keep Louis in check, acting as a watchful big sister. “She keeps an eye on him, though it’s not always easy,” Bond said.

She also pointed out how Louis’s playful and spirited behavior has captured the public’s affection.

“I’d much rather see a lively, cheeky child than one who behaves perfectly all the time,” she added.

Although Princess Kate hasn’t publicly spoken about her feelings ahead of Louis’s birthday, she has previously commented on how quickly her youngest son is growing up.

During a visit to a maternity unit in Surrey some years ago, Kate remarked to a group of mothers, “I keep thinking Louis is still a baby, but he’s actually a big boy now.”

Details of how Louis will celebrate his special day have not been officially shared, but it is expected that he will mark the occasion privately with his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, along with his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
