Prince William Reportedly Plans to Ban Prince Harry from His Coronation

As Prince William prepares for his eventual ascension to the throne, discussions around his future coronation have already begun, along with speculation about who will be invited.

One name apparently missing from that list? His younger brother, Prince Harry.

Even though King Charles extended an invitation to Harry for his coronation amid ongoing family tensions, William is not expected to follow in his father’s footsteps.

According to sources close to the royal household, William has no intention of reconciling with Harry, especially after the Duke of Sussex’s recent interview with the BBC.

“It’s over. There’s no coming back from this,” one insider told Page Six, referring to William’s reaction. “Before that interview, there were still people encouraging William to reach out and try to make peace. But now, it’s clear that Harry hasn’t changed.”

The interview in question saw Prince Harry expressing a desire to mend his fractured relationship with his family, stating, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight—life is precious.”

However, those remarks seem to have done little to sway William.

Royal biographer and commentator Hugo Vickers added that while it might be expected for a monarch to invite their sibling to such a historic event, the final decision rests with William.

“Technically, yes, he should extend the invitation,” Vickers explained. “But at the end of the day, it’s entirely up to him.

Nothing is set in stone.

After all, the Duke of Windsor wasn’t invited to Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953, and there was plenty of debate about that at the time.”

Despite persistent rumors that William might take steps to formally remove Harry and Meghan’s royal titles, sources say he is unlikely to pursue such actions.

According to those familiar with William’s thinking, although he may be unwilling to repair his personal bond with Harry, stripping the couple of their titles would come across as harsh and unnecessary.

Vickers echoed that view, noting, “William is known for being unforgiving, but even he seems to recognize that taking away the titles would appear petty or vindictive.”

While tensions remain high, Harry’s recent comments suggest he’s still hopeful for a future reconciliation. Yet, as of now, that hope doesn’t seem to be shared by his older brother.

William appears focused on his future as king and the reputation of the monarchy, showing little interest in reestablishing ties with his estranged sibling, at least not anytime soon.

Whether the royal rift can ever be repaired remains uncertain, but one thing seems clear: Prince William’s coronation may be a milestone moment in royal history, but it likely won’t include Prince Harry.
