A man was walking home late one night when he noticed a woman standing alone in the shadows.
As he walked past, she quietly called out:
“Twenty bucks.”
The man shrugged. “Why not?”
A couple of minutes later, just as things were getting interesting, a bright flashlight suddenly hit them.
“Hey! What’s going on here?” a police officer demanded.
The man panicked and quickly replied:
“I’m with my wife!”
The cop immediately apologized.
“Oh! Sorry, sir. I didn’t realize she was your wife.”
The man looked at the woman, then back at the cop and sighed:
“Yeah… neither did I.”
The cop lowered his flashlight.
The man stared at his “wife” for a moment and muttered:
“Honestly, officer… thanks for clearing that up.”
