Three Men, Three Homecomings

A train engineer, a ship captain, and a truck driver were sitting in a bar, sharing stories about what it was like coming home after long trips.

The ship captain said,
“Our house is right next to the harbor. Every time my ship sails past, I sound the horn. By the time I get home, dinner is on the table, my wife is looking beautiful, and I get a very special welcome.”

The train engineer smiled.
“Same here. We live close to the railroad tracks. Whenever my train passes our house, I blow the whistle. When I walk through the door, my wife is waiting in l*ngerie, dinner is ready, and the bed is warm.”

The truck driver took a sip of his beer and grinned.

“Yeah… almost the same here.”

“My house is halfway down a hill, so whenever I get home, I switch off the engine at the top and let the truck roll quietly down the hill. Then I grab my wrench, ring the front doorbell… and run around to the back of the house.”

He paused for a moment before adding,

“So far… none of them has escaped yet.”
